In the summer of '88 Antonella Bonomi, daughter of Sandro, one of the owners, together with brothers Marino and Fausto, of the "Tenuta Castellino Bonomi” estate and Luca Belpietro decided to go and live in Kenya, in a Masai reserve at the foot of immense mount Kilimanjaro.
They took two years to build a splendid tent lodge, small and exclusive, respecting the surrounding environment and animals: Campi ya Kanzi.
To do this, Antonella had had to leave the family estate where she had worked with satisfaction and passion before leaving for Africa.
Luca and Antonella married in Kenya in December ‘99 to seal their union before God. On the 12th of July, 2002, on a bright July morning, their daughter was born at Nairobi Hospital: Lucrezia. Naturally, she could only have been born at Nairobi, because she is a daughter of Africa and Antonella and Luca proud and happy that she is.
Lucrezia’s birth has brought immense joy and emotion to everyone that wish her well. To celebrate her coming into the world, the Bonomi family decided to create a unique and incomparable Franciacorta wine: the Cuvée Lucrezia.
